Frequently Asked Questions

Do the injections hurt?

• Toxin injections feel like a slight sting.

• Dermal fillers are typically infused with a numbing agent so you will feel little to no discomfort.

When will I see results?

• With toxin treatments you typically start to see results in 3 days. The treated area may take up to 2 weeks to fully improve.

• With dermal fillers you will see immediate results. You may have a small amount of swelling and bruising for a few days after your injection.

How long does it last?

• The results from Neuromodulator treatment (Botox, Dysport, or Jeuveau) last anywhere between 2-6 months; the average result lasts about 3-4 months. You’ll know when its time to schedule your next treatment.

• Dermal fillers typically last 6 months- 1 year.

What effects how long a treatment last?

• Your Personal Metabolism. Your unique body chemistry will process neuromodulator on its own timeframe – for most people, the effect lasts 3-4 months.

• The Size and Depth of Your Wrinkles. People with fine lines may enjoy neuromodulator longer than those with thick scowls or bulky muscles.

• Your Activity Level. Those who do cardio exercise more than 5 times a week may notice that neuromodulator wears off more quickly.

• The Area Being Treated. Results in the forehead and between the eyebrows typically last the longest.

• Your Facial Expressions. Some patients are lucky and “forget” to use their facial muscles even after the effects of neuromodulator begin to wear off. Their results will last longer than those who are extremely animated with their facial expressions.

• The Amount of neuromodulator Injected. There’s no one-size-fits-all standard recipe for neuromodulator. Your treatment should be tailored to your muscles’ specific level of activity, strength and bulk. Larger muscles require more neuromodulators.

• Other Factors. Some people will experience a shorter neuromodulator benefit if they are ill, under stress or perform intense physical activity.

• How Often Do You Refresh Treatments. You’ll start to notice a return of muscle movement and deepening of the wrinkles. Your results will continue to improve the more often you’re treated.

Why does Botox eventually stop working?

•Your body makes new neurotransmitters all the time, so the “blocking” effect of the neuromodulator treatment is it gradually wears off as these chemicals start circulating in your body again. The muscles are no longer inhibited.

What if I don’t like my filler results?

• If you don’t like your filler results, your provider can inject a special solution to dissolve the injectable gel more quickly. You won’t have to live with your results for more than a few days.

Who should not get B12 injections?

• Patients with early hereditary optic nerve atrophy, cyanocobalmin hypersensitivity, and those who are pregnant. Your health care provider needs to know if you have any of these conditions: kidney disease; Leber’s disease; megaloblastic anemia; an unusual or allergic reaction to methylcobalamin, cobalt, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives; pregnant or trying to get pregnant; breast-feeding.

Does Microneedling hurt?

• No, microneedling doesn’t hurt. Our providers will do everything they can to minimize discomfort with topical numbing creams we apply for you in our studio.

What is the downtime for Microneedling?

• You may be pink and slightly swollen for the first 1 to 4 days but most people find that they can go to work the next day.

What are the risks of PRP treatment?

 • Because we’re using platelets from your own blood, there is minimal risk of adverse reactions to the treatments. There might be slight bruising or swelling at the injection sites, but that will go away within a few days. Please avoid the sun and harsh skin treatments during the healing and regeneration time.

How often do I get PRP?

With platelet-rich plasma injections for under-eye treatment, patients will notice results after just the first treatment. However, we encourage patients to consider three treatments spread approximately four weeks apart and then perform maintenance injections every six months.
