Pre-Toxin Instructions

For your Tox treatment please try to stay away from alcohol and NSAIDs such as Advil for a few days before your treatment, as they increase the risk of bruising.

Pre-Dermal Filler Instructions

2 weeks before
Avoid dental procedures.  This includes cleanings.
You will also need to avoid dental procedures 2 weeks post filler procedures.

7-10 days before
Discontinue prescription blood thinners.
If you are taking prescription blood thinners (for example Coumadin, Plavix or Eliquis) check with your prescribing doctor to see if you are able to stop these medicines for 7-10 days before your appointment and at least 2 days after the procedure.

7-10 days before
Avoid taking over-the-counter blood thinners.
This includes Aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Aleve, Celebrex, Fish Oil, Gingko Biloba, St John’s Wort, and high doses of Vitamin E.

1 hour Before
You can take Tylenol one hour before your appointment if you have concerns about discomfort.

Cold Sores
If you have a history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) on your face. Please inform us one week prior to your appointment; this will allow us adequate time to prescribe a medication to prevent an outbreak.

Other considerations:
 • Do not schedule special events or exercise for 24-48 hours after you receive your dermal filler injections. Bruising and swelling will be the worst during this time.
• Wait at least one month after Covid-19 vaccination (including boosters) to schedule an appointment for dermal fillers due to risk of angioedema.

Pre-Microneedling Instructions 



  • Avoid Accutane/Isotretinoin. Do not schedule if you have been taking for the 6 months. 

• Do not use topical agents that may increase sensitivity of skin: retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, acids that may be drying or irritating to the skin (such as alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) beta hydroxyl acids (BHA), exfoliating masks, salicylic acids, hydroquinone, and benzoyl peroxide acne products)

• 5-7 days prior, do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin or Advil for 3 days prior to treatment. These agents will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation

• Avoid sun exposure to the treated area for 2 to 5 days before your treatment. 

•  No waxing, depilatory creams or electrolysis to area being treated 5-7 days prior. 

• No shaving the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation. 

• If you are prone to cold sores, take antiviral agent for 2 days prior to and day of treatment. Call the studio for a prescription.

• Bruising is a common risk especially with PRP injections. Avoid blood thinning agents (aspirin, fish oil, Omega-3, Vitamin E) for 1 week prior. May resume day after treatment.

Sculptra Pre-Care 


• If you have a special event or vacation coming up, please keep in mind that you should
schedule your treatment at least 2 weeks in advance.

• Do not schedule any of the following for 4 weeks before or after Sculptra:
o Dental cleaning or dental work (crowns, root canals, etc.)
o Surgery of any kind or Internal device placement
o Tattoos or permanent makeup
o Any vaccines
o Please wait 3 months before or after dermal filler

• If you develop a cold/flu, cold sore, blemish or rash, etc. in the area to be treated prior to your appointment, please wait at least 2 weeks to reschedule.

• Sculptra is not generally recommended if you have a history of surgical face lifts/implants in the past. We do not treat patients who have had Bellafill in the past.

• Do not receive Sculptra if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• It is recommended to discontinue aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), naproxen (Aleve), platelet inhibitors, anticoagulants, fish oil, vitamin E, vitamin A, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, garlic, kava kava, celery root and any other herbal or homeopathic remedies that may contribute to bleeding risk at least 1 week prior to Sculptra injections. Please consult with your primary care provider prior to discontinuing any of these medications.

• If you have a history of a neuromuscular or immunosuppressive disorder, please get a signed note from your treating provider authorizing the use of Sculptra.

• Avoid alcohol, niacin supplements and cigarettes 24-48 hours before and after your treatment, as these may contribute to increased swelling, bruising, and irritation. Limit caffeine intake.

• If you have a history of cold sores, we recommend you are pretreated with valacyclovir prior to your injections. Please let us know if you need a prescription called into your pharmacy.

• If you develop a cold/flu, cold sore, blemish or rash, etc. in the area to be treated prior to your appointment, we recommend you reschedule your appointment until it resolves.

• We recommend discontinuing products containing retinols (Retin-A) 3 days prior to treatments to avoid increased redness and irritation.

• We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before and after your Sculptra to have any other cosmetic facial treatments, including laser, ultrasound, peel, facials, micro needling, microdermabrasion, etc. 12. Please come to your Sculptra appointment with NO makeup if possible.

 Pre-Peel Care


1. Avoid clay masks, scrubs or additional exfoliators that contain alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) such as glycolic and lactic acid and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) such as salicylic acid for at least 48 hours prior to each peel treatment.

2. Do not use AlphaRet products, Retin-A or any other Vitamin A product, including products that contain a retinoid or retinol for at least 48 hours prior to each peel treatment.

3. Do not use self-tanning agents for at least 48 hours prior to each peel treatment.

4. If you have a history of cold sores, the  Professional Peel should not be performed if active cold sores, fever blisters or herpes are present anywhere on your face prior to treatment. If you are prone to or have a history of cold sores or fever blisters, speak to your Healthcare Professional as they may consider treatment with antiviral medications prior to receiving treatment.

5. The Peel should not be performed on sunburned or windburned skin.

6. Do not have facial hair waxed/lasered 48 hours prior to each peel treatment. Avoid facial hair shaving 8 hoursbefore each peel treatment.

7. If you have recently undergone any other facial treatment procedures, such as microdermabrasion, microneedling, dermaplaning, laser resurfacing, chemical peels, botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, facial plastic surgery, etc., skin must be completely healed and normalized prior to receiving an professional peel.

8. We do not recommend peel for pregnant or nursing mothers.
