Frequently Asked Questions

Serving the greater Cincinnati area

  • Toxin injections feel like a slight sting.
  • Dermal fillers are typically infused with a numbing agent so you will feel little to no discomfort.
  • With toxin treatments you typically start to see results in 3 days. The treated area may take up to 2 weeks to fully improve.
  • With dermal fillers you will see immediate results. You may have a small amount of swelling and bruising for a few days after your injection.
  • The results from Neuromodulator treatment (Botox, Dysport, or Jeuveau) last about 3-4 months. You’ll know when it's time to schedule your next treatment.
  • Dermal fillers typically last 6 months- 1 year.
  • Your Personal Metabolism. Your unique body chemistry will process neuromodulator on its own timeframe – for most people, the effect lasts 3-4 months.
  • The Size and Depth of Your Wrinkles. People with fine lines may enjoy neuromodulator longer than those with thick scowls or bulky muscles.
  • Your Activity Level. Those who do cardio exercise more than 5 times a week may notice that neuromodulator wears off more quickly.
  • The Area Being Treated. Results in the forehead and between the eyebrows typically last the longest.
  • Your Facial Expressions. Some patients are lucky and “forget” to use their facial muscles even after the effects of neuromodulator begin to wear off. Their results will last longer than those who are extremely animated with their facial expressions.
  • The Amount of neuromodulator Injected. There’s no one-size-fits-all standard recipe for neuromodulator. Your treatment should be tailored to your muscles’ specific level of activity, strength and bulk. Larger muscles require more neuromodulators.
  • Other Factors. Some people will experience a shorter neuromodulator benefit if they are ill, under stress or perform intense physical activity.
  • How Often Do You Refresh Treatments. You’ll start to notice a return of muscle movement and deepening of the wrinkles. Your results will continue to improve the more often you’re treated.
  • Your body makes new neurotransmitters all the time, so the “blocking” effect of the neuromodulator treatment gradually wears off as these chemicals start circulating in your body again. The muscles are no longer inhibited.
  • If you don’t like your filler results, your provider can inject a special solution to dissolve the injectable gel more quickly. You won’t have to live with your results for more than a few days.
  • Patients with early hereditary optic nerve atrophy, cyanocobalamin hypersensitivity, and those who are pregnant. Your health care provider needs to know if you have any of these conditions: kidney disease; Leber’s disease; megaloblastic anemia; an unusual or allergic reaction to methylcobalamin, cobalt, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives; pregnancy or trying to get pregnant; breastfeeding.
  • No, microneedling doesn’t hurt. Our providers will do everything they can to minimize discomfort with topical numbing creams that we apply for you in our studio.
  • You may be pink and slightly swollen for the first 1 to 4 days, but most people find that they can go to work the next day.
  • While both PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) and PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) use a patient’s own blood to promote healing, the key difference lies in how the blood is processed: PRF is spun at a slower speed, allowing more white blood cells and stem cells to remain in the platelet concentrate, creating a fibrin matrix that provides structural support for tissue regeneration, whereas PRP is spun faster, separating most white blood cells and resulting in a higher concentration of platelets alone; this means PRF may offer a more prolonged release of growth factors and potentially better tissue repair compared to PRP.
  • After PRF Gel injections, expect to have swelling in the area of injection for a few days, possible bruising, and tenderness. This will resolve in a few days after treatment, but always plan for a 2-week period of healing time.
  • Initial results may be visible within a few days, with optimal results appearing over several weeks as collagen production increases.
  • BBL HEROic can be performed anywhere on the face or body.
  • During a BBL HEROic treatment, a clear gel is applied over the treatment areas to help your skin absorb light energy. As the treatment begins, you should feel minimal to no discomfort as your provider gently glides the handpiece over the skin.
  • A treatment with BBL HEROic is generally well-tolerated by most patients. It is commonly described as feeling like a quick snap on the skin, with the sensation fading swiftly as the handheld device pulses over the skin. Thanks to BBL HEROic’s CoolComfort™ technology, which cools the epidermis during the procedure, topical anesthesia is not necessary. After the treatment, it is normal for the skin to feel warm for about 30 to 60 minutes.
  • There is minimal to no downtime following treatment with BBL HEROic. Patients can typically resume normal activities immediately.
  • Moxi delivers fractionated laser energy to create micro-coagulation zones that the body then repairs, replacing damaged cells with fresh new ones. Moxi is designed to provide tonal and textural improvements to your face with low downtime, resulting in skin renewal.
  • Depending on the level of treatment provided, most patients find the treatment well tolerated. Your practitioner may use cooling air and recommend numbing cream to help ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible.
